Renting a scooter or motorcycle in India is easy once you know what to carry. Here's exactly what you need — and how it works for tourists from other states and from abroad.
The essentials
- Valid two-wheeler Driving Licence (DL): you must hold a licence that allows you to ride a geared/non-geared two-wheeler, whichever you're renting.
- One government photo ID proof: Aadhaar card, Passport or Voter ID.
- A refundable security deposit: at Bike Land this is just ₹500, returned when you bring the bike back in the same condition.
- Minimum age 18, with a valid licence — no exceptions.
Tourists from other Indian states
Visiting Vizag from Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai or anywhere else? No problem — your home-state Driving Licence is valid across India. Just bring your DL and one ID proof and you're good to ride.
International visitors
Foreign travellers should carry their passport plus either an International Driving Permit (IDP) or a valid licence from their home country (an IDP is strongly recommended). Requirements can vary, so message us in advance and we'll confirm what works.
What about fuel, helmet and insurance?
- Helmet: included free with every Bike Land rental — and legally required, so always wear it.
- Fuel: not included. You get the bike with a full tank and return it full.
- Traffic fines: any challans during your rental are the rider's responsibility, so follow the rules and carry your documents while riding.
